Prof. Dr. Timothy M. Cox MD, FRCP, FMedSci, MAE, Emeritus professor of Medicine and Director of Research at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom. For many years he had clinical responsibility in acute internal medicine and metabolic diseases at Addenbrooke’s Hospital and conducts laboratory and clinical research principally on inborn errors of metabolism in the University of Cambridge.

 

His current work focusses on the molecular pathogenesis and treatment of lysosomal diseases and he was instrumental in introducing national specialised service centres for patients with these conditions in the UK. Professor Cox has authored more than 300 scientific publications.

 

He is an Editor of the four volume Oxford Textbook of Medicine, now in its 6th Edition.
